  1. Why choose After Tech Recycling as your company's computer recycling resource?

    • AfterTech has the best rates for pick up and recycling - Free! (Minimum quantities apply)

    • AfterTech provides a Hold Harmless/Indemnity Agreement, taking over the responsibility and legalities for you and for your protection against sensitive data leaks.

    • AfterTech adheres to all EPA, NIST (NIST has replaced DoD for the best recycling standards), State and Federal rules and regulations for Hard Drive destruction and the recycling of all items brought to us or picked up.

    • AfterTech does not require a detailed inventory unlike most of our competitors. An estimate of about how many *machines the customer has will determine the size of box truck and/or truck with enclosed trailer.

    • AfterTech can do all the packing for a small labor fee.

    • AfterTech's crew moves all items as long as everything is near an exit which the crew can easily park next to with a large box truck and/or a truck with an enclosed trailer. Items do not have to be palatalized but can be. Please let us know if there are flight(s) of stairs w/o an elevator. If we haul items down stairs, there will be an additional courtesy pick up fee or if the pick up is free of charge, an courtesy labor fee..

  1. How can your be sure your computer equipment and sensitive data will not be compromised?

    • AfterTech looks for & destroys all hard drives, unless otherwise instructed, per NIST standards for high risk media.

    • We provide a Certificate of Data Destruction and Recycle for all hard drives, media and other recyclable items.

    • Hard drives are physically destroyed and melted down or shredded with the rest of the like metals unless otherwise stated.

    • AfterTech provides an Indemnification/Hold Harmless Agreement stating AfterTech is fully legally and financially responsible in the unlikely event of a sensitive data leak. We have never had a leak of sensitive data in 14+ years, giving the customer, you peace of mind.

    • Our downstream vendors are required to be at least R2 Certified, HIPAA Compliant

    • We can provide many happy references upon request.

  2. How long in advance should a pick up of computer equipment be scheduled to ensure the procurement of a truck?

    • Generally, we ask pick ups to be requested three to five days in advance but we can accommodate more quickly.

  3. Where does AfterTech pick up from?

    • AfterTech picks up locally, regionally and sometimes nationally.

  4. How long does an e-waste equipment audit take and how much do they cost?

    • It depends on how much computer equipment is being audited and where. Generally up to a few pallets can take up to a few days when audited from our office, especially if data wipes are involved or up to an hour or more when audited before leaving the customer's site.

      • We can provide this service with little additional cost ($2 per item).

  5. What happens to unusable computer equipment?

    • When computer equipment is too old or broken to recycle and put back to work, it is broken down to board level and transported to the appropriate refinery (ie. metal refinery, plastic refinery.) Often, the equipment we pick up and receive is too old or broken to put back to work.

    • After Tech has a 'no landfill' policy. No hazardous materials will be sent to a landfill by us or our refineries/downstream vendors - Guaranteed!

  6. What does AfterTech do with the machines they repair to put back into commission?

    • We donate some of the machines to those whom request them from us.

    • The rest of the rebuilt machines are sold at discount rates to those needing them.

  7. Can AfterTech hand pack/palletize the computer equipment for a company?

    • Yes, AfterTech prefers to hand pack the equipment themselves for space efficiency.

  8. What does AfterTech accept for recycling?

    • AfterTech accepts everything from computer scrap, working and complete or not computers & electronics, and scrap metals.
